The person we want to become:  David Brooks and The Road To Character


David Brooks, well known for his career in journalism, as well as being an Intelligence Squared US debater alumni, just published a new book about mapping out the road to your internal resume, or what Brooks calls the “eulogy virtues”.  

In his new book “The Road to Character”, Brooks writes:

“The résumé virtues are the skills you bring to the marketplace. The eulogy virtues are the ones that are talked about at your funeral — whether you were kind, brave, honest or faithful. Were you capable of deep love?”

Being at once straightforward and insightful, Brooks pens the orchestration of how one may build their inner character and queries what are the experiences one should have on the way toward the richest possible inner life?
